I'm attempting a fresh install of 9 on my 7300/180 with a Powermac G4
install cd and hopefully it will go ok. As I understand, the iMac cd's are
the first real machine specific cd's that will put a real flaky install on
non-iMac machines. Of course, I could be wrong as I'm not familiar with them
(never owned them or an iMac) so I guess anything is possible, but that is
what I've gathered from other posts.

Subject: Can I use these on my 6360???

we talk about this repeatedly, but the price of retail, all-machine OS 9
on eBay is running to 90 dollars these days.
this auction looks sooo tempting. the price is good, and the guy seems
to have done his homework. am i wasting my money if I get these? I have
the sonnet crescendo upgrade. my processor wil be at 320 Mhz.
would using this screw up my mac?

his presentation says, quote:
"You are bidding on a NEW, GENUINE APPLE, iMac Software Bundle with Full
Mac OS Version 9.0.4. This is the Mac OS 9.0.4 Full install software
bundle that shiped with the DV iMac.
This auction is for the software package that comes with the
Apple DV iMac. Theses CDs will allow you to install/restore the
following included software: Quicktime, Graphing Calculator, FAXstf 6,
Apple DVD Player, iMovie, AppleWorks 6, EarthLink, Microsoft Internet
Explorer, Microsoft Outlook Express, Netscape Communicator, Aladdin
Dropstuff and Stuffit Expander, Quicken Deluxe 2000 Adobe Acrobat
Reader, Bugdom, and Palm Desktop Organizer."
" The iMac installer CD should install OS 9.0.4 on other Macs,
iMacs, G3s and G4s. This is a full, stand-alone install of OS 9.0.4.
