The drive is mounted on a plastic "sled." It is removed in the same 
manner as most other sled mounted drives. You lift up on the tab and pull 
the drive towwards you. I know, it does not want to move! Still, you just 
have to pull harder. I have had to sometimes hook something into the hole 
in the tab to get enough "leverage" to get the things out. Still, it will 
come eventually.
