I'm updating the list FAQ to reflect the following: - Discussion of Macs that don't have PowerPC processors is officially declared off topic.
- Discussion of "once removed" Power Macs is explicitly discouraged on this list. The 1st PowerMacs and G-List email lists are recommended for pre-PCI and G3/G4 models respectively. - We note that clone users will find the best support on the Motorola StarMax, Power Computing, and Umax SuperMac email lists and suggest joining them. Although not mentioned in the FAQ, we also run the Unsupported OS X email list for those who are installing Mac OS X on unsupported hardware. If you have questions about OS X on pre-G3 models, that's the list to join. I've even seen Ryan Rempel post.... If you're interested in other *nix variants (Linux, BSD, etc.), consider joining the MaX email list. Between all this, maybe we can reduce the amount of traffic on this list by 25% and stop driving people away by the sheer number of messages generated.
