It was never "used"  - it was a brand new in box.

No!!! It was never anyone's "slave", or ever used as a second drive, or 
otherwise installed or refurbished...LOL. It's a part they send to AARs 
called Genuine Apple Replacement Part. In other words, IT'S WHAT APPLE 
RECOMMENDS BE INSTALLED and assures will work.
