Before you attempt to resolder the socket, make sure the areas to be soldered are absolutely clean. Use acetone or plain nail polish remover to remove all traces of old flux. Clean the socket, too. Solder carefully, applying enough, but not too much heat. About 35 watts should do it. Clean with acetone again.
