This confirms that I'm not going insane. Running Jag on a 9600, I too 
noticed the internal speaker was working even though I had externals 
hooked up. The 9600 is a new machine for me so I scratched my head and 
assumed it was a "feature". Kind of surprised that software would 
enable this.

Jeremy, you should be able to find a headphone cord extension for less 
than $5 at Radio Shack.
