8.6 requires that the drivers be installed for things like Zip drives, floppies, etc. even with the USB device driver 1.3.5. I believe that OS 9 was the start of the built in support where no drivers were needed unless for example you wanted to run the control panel to format your Zips. If that is what you want, it's here: http://kbase.info.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/kbase.woa/26/wa/query?search Mode=Expert&type=id&val=KC.60394 Requirements: Mass Storage Support 1.3.5 requires Mac OS 8.6. You do not need to install this software if you have installed Mac OS 9. There is also another file here: http://kbase.info.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/kbase.woa/26/wa/query?search Mode=Expert&type=id&val=KC.31132 Requirements: USB Adapter Card Support requires a PowerPCTM-based Macintosh computer with PCI or CardBus slots, Mac OS 8.6 or later, and a USB adapter card. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
