Yup, 8.6 allows me to use FW and USB on my 8500/Powerlogix G3 just fine. Downloaded and installed Apple USB Adapter card Support 1.4.1 and FireWire Cardbus Enabler 2.3.3. Also have Toast FireWire Support Extension for my LaCie Firewire CD-RW which is the only FW device I have used. Whatever extension(s) are being used the FW always works flawlessly.
