Just an update on this issue I was having... I had to completely eliminate the Apple CD-ROM from the system. I tried it without the power term jumper, and it still wouldn't boot with the IDE burner attached.
(Just wondering, would changing the SCSI ID or the Parity jumper have made a difference? Normally I try everything, but I was tired, and didn't feel like pulling the drive in and out over and over...) I also tried hooking the ZIP drive back up in place of the stock CD-ROM, and it wouldn't boot with that attached either. So, after eliminating all the SCSI devices on the system, I am now able to boot with the burner, and my DVD-ROM. Unfortunately, Apple's DVD Player app apparently doesn't support my DVD drive. Not only did Jaguar *not* install the app at installation time, but when I tried downloading and installing the one from their site, it said that no compatible DVD hardware was found, even though when I pop a DVD into it, it recognizes it as a DVD (has the DVD logo on the icon) Oh well... :-( Stace -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
