I recently bought four new 128 mB EDO RAM sticks to use in my 7300 and 7500
(both with G3 400/512 modules) . I intended to use two sticks in each
machine-

When I installed the two sticks in the 7300 (already equipped with 320 mB),
it refused to boot up, and I got several different error messages on
subsequent attempts. I finally removed the old RAM, and with the new sticks
only, it booted up OK, providing- NO sticks were in interleave position,
i.e., with a stick in position A1, it will not boot if I install one in B1,
etc. So, at present I have the new sticks installed in A1, A2, B3, and B4-
runs fine that way, but not with any combination of new/new or old/new
sticks in the same A and B numbered connectors. The old RAM may not be
EDO, I can't tell. However, with all the old RAM removed, it's the same
story. With the old RAM only, however, I am able to use the A1/B1, etc.
combinations.

Incidentally, I haven't tried installing the sticks in the 7500, because
it's in another location, lots of miles from here. Can anyone shed any
light on this? It's certainly confusing me. I'll be grateful for any
ideas.
