I was wondering if anyone has installed and successfully used software on their PCI Powermac that claims to not work on that platform?
I bring this up because I am always looking to get new software, and some of the new titles look good and I don't see a reason that they couldn't work, they just aren't intended to. My experience so far with a stock PowerMac 7300/200 with: ATI XCLAIM VR 128 PCI video card 600 mb RAM OS 8.6 Diablo II: Runs fine Diablo II: Lord of Destruction: Runs fine, a little choppy in places MixMan Studio Pro 4.0: Runs the software fine, but no sound comes out, so really is useless Connectix Virtual Game Station: Too slow to use for games, and there aren't any word processors for the PlatStation ;) American McGee's Alice, DEMO: I got this to install and run just fine, but it was very slow and choppy. It was nice to learn that I wasn't that interested in the game, and I could go back to playing Tomb Raider. Tony Hawk, Pro Skater DEMO: Runs just fine on my machine. Star Wars Episode I; Pod Racer: Installed OK, but crashed on startup. Oni DEMO: Installed just fine, plays the first movie, then crashes. Am particularly interested in experiences with similar setups to mine, but would be interested in anything running on PCI Powermacs. -Lavode -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
