Other than being illegal......but go ahead... > I the started from a (G4) OS 9.2 CD >(with the c on the key board pressed). Started from the cd no problem. >Tried to install 9.2 and kept getting the message 'Your mac's firmware >is out of date. Firmware updates can be found in the CD extra's folder >on your mac os CD. Refer to the mac os installation manual for more >info.' So copy the firmware onto the HD, then do the update and THEN go buy your friend an OS 9.1 CD from eBay. >The problem is that the info in the manual does not tell me how to >install the needed firmware. I checked the Extras folder and sure >there's lots of stuff in there but no installation directions. > I feel dumb. What am I missing? I used the same Cd last week to install >9.2 in another imac without any problems. The firmware info is in the folder with the software. You simply click on it and follow the directions. Have a paperclip ready to hold the button where it says. But again, don't use the G4 CD, get him an iMac or universal 9.1 one on eBay. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
