I have been going back and forth with Pam <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> trying to solve this problem.. From the article that states her Mac can not surf at more than 9600 due to not having HW/HS:
"There are a few external modems that use an external port controller mode where the modem provides hardware handshaking (it is usually the computer that does this). If you can find such a modem, you may be able to use a 56k connection. Global Village makes such a modem." The article said the modem had to be "hardware handshaking" kind -- would that be the normal GVTP 56K that was last made? If so you can still get these...
