TaxCut program has never been free; $24.95 last year. There was an
on line serve that you could access for free but if you wanted any
useful results you had to pay, i.e., one could input all the data but
to see the results or submit the forms, a fee was requested.

>I used TaxCut last year on my PowerMac 7300 and had nothing but problems.

I have used it several years on a 7300 and found it Mac-easy to use.
The interpretations of new tax laws are consistently more accurate
than those used in TurboTax. I installed TaxCut Deluxe 2001 on my
PB 540 w/PPC and made almost $3K trouble-free helping relatives,
friends, and neighbors door to door.

Unfortunately, it only comes in the Platinum (39.95) this year and
only indicates that OS 9 and 10 are supported so I've gone back to
TurboTax with their MicroSoft-attitude -- no ability to import last
years data from competitors' files. :-(
