Hello PCI'ers, Awhile ago, I switched a HD w/ OS 8.6 from a 7100 and moved it to my 7300/200. I have had no problem with it (after replacing some Ethernet files, as y'all might remember!), and it runs smoothly...
BUT(!)... ;-) I am having a "lil' naggin' thang" going on w/ my ISP, the (in)famous AOL. Whenever I try to sign on to AOL, it coonstantly holds up right before dialing and warns me that the "TCP/IP needs to be reset in order to Browse." Then I tell it to do so, and it does, and I sign on, and it DOES browse.... But everytime I try to sign on it says the same thing. I have tried trashing the TCP/IP prefs, and setting the TCP/IP myself [set on AOL Link using BootIP Server, the same setup that my other 7x PCI Macs use w/o a problem], but it never makes a diff... So now I am appealing to the Mac Court Of Last Resort w/ this lil' nagging problem o' mine.... Say, could it be that the TCP/IP on the HD is meant for a Nubus Mac and not a PCI Mac? I think I will try that while waiting 4 a response... Criminy(!) Craig W. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
