Since the IBM DGHS 09Y 9 GB disk in my Workgroup Server 8550
generates a lot of noise, I decided to put a piece of clothes between
the HD and the Mac's plastic frame. Unfortunately this does not make
much difference. Most of the noise doesn't come from vibrations but
from the spinning of the disk itself.

Tests
(http://www.storagereview.com/articles/200111/20011109Renaissance_10.html
) show that Seagate's Barracuda IV is a good choice regarding low
noise. But it's an ATA drive, not SCSI. Can you recommend a low-noise
SCSI disk model (preferably 4 GB or 9 GB capacity) that may be
available second hand at eBay?
