I hope someone with a similar configuration has found a way to install and run MacOSX:
Beige G3/300 1 or 2 4GB Ultra Wide SCSI HDs ATTO Express PCI Ultra Wide SCSI card Apple released the Beige G3 with different hard drive configurations. The UW SCSI version was one of them, which is what I have. I've tried installing OS 9.2.1 and MacOS X (10.0.0) onto this machine. Mac OS 9 works without incident, but the Mac OSX installer will often have a kernel panic, or broken folder icon. It never gets to the install screen. Apple offered an upgrade to flash the SCSI card's ROM, which was supposed to make the card compatible with OSX. Has anyone tried this upgrade and managed to install OSX? I did - without success, mind you. I'm really, really hoping that someone has figured how to make their G3 with ultra wide SCSI drive work with MacOS X.
