You may be using a USB 2.0 PCI card that is not (yet) supported by OS 9.2
for lack of drivers but is seen by 10.2.4 by virtue of USB 2.0 drivers
incorporated in OSX.

You could substitute a Mac compatible USB 1.0, 1.1 card to see if you can
print under 9.2.
