The DeskWriter, being such an old printer, has a great advantage in this "modern" age... It was designed before the manufacturers stuck their heads up their a**es and put those stupid burn-out chips in the cartridges. IOW, the cartridges are refillable. Go figure! A *reliable* printer with refillable cartridges. How un-american. Buy a real HP cart at a place like Office Despot, then refill it a dozen times. You can buy decent ink in large bottles for <$8 at computer shows. Or, if you want higher quality prints, use Shaffer Scrip Jetblack Ink. It costs about $4 per bottle at stationary stores, and will refill a cart four or five times. Those same computer shows have 3rd party cartridges for DeskWriters too. If you wait until just before the show closes for the day, you can usually haggle for 'em. $5 each... - Dan. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
