Have you tried to find out if the RAM-sockets are OK or not?
I have had a similar problem with a 8600 w. G3/300.
After days of testing different RAM sticks I found that socket a1 is defect on that mobo.

Have you tried a new PRAM battery and/or a PRAM reset, CUDA button push?
