Fry's has PC133 256 MB modules (P/N 2825844) for $22.95 through today I think (3/25). I bought a pair yesterday and they work fine in my Beige. The pair I bought had a "Legacy Computers, Inc." label on them. I don't know if all the stores have the same brand filling the same item number. They're probably too tall for the desktop but they fit great in my MT. They also had PC100 listed for $19.95 but they were out of stock. This was their true price without any rebates. Several places had 256 MB modules listed in their Sunday flier but by the time you pay the sales tax on the pre-rebate price, you're into another two or three dollars, plus the risk and hassle of applying for the rebate. Eight chips on the module would mean that the module is made from 256 Mbit chips. The DIMM is still a 64 bit DIMM (64 bits wide). I don't understand why this would prevent the XPC106 from addressing it as one is clearly not overloading the address drivers and there are still 32M addresses per module. I'll have to go dig a bit. It probably has to do with banks or some such. Jeff Walther -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
