>Hello, > I recently purchased a G3 mini-tower with OS 9.2.2 having 128 MB of memory, >with virtual memory on. This computer was owned by National Geographic and >is loaded with programs-Adobe Photoshop 7, Extensis Portfolio 6.0.1, >Microsoft Office 98, Quark Express 4.0, Adaptec Toast 4.1.2, Apple Works >6.0, Roxio Toast Titanium 5.0.1, and others.
oh I thought photoshop 7 was only for OS X ? isnt adaptec toast4 a lesser version of roxio toast titanium 5 ? I dont know about microsoft office or extensis but the only ramsucker is Adobe, it always good to have lots of ram, i do more than well with 256 mb on 166mhz PM, and I dont use virtual at all. is it still that way that ytou should not use virtual memory with photoshop or toast ? they say that virtual memory improved trough the OS:s, since i never needed to use it I can not tell, I think that all would work just fine with the virtual memory off at 128mb and g3 processor. kenta -- -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
