> > have you tried alternative cd drivers ? (I could send some)

I have pretty much tracked it down to a driver problem, but I don't know how
to resolve it.

ASP initially reported the following though I was using Apple CD/DVD driver
1.2.2

> Driver Version: Not available (even when driver is enabled in EM)
> Vendor: MATSHITA
> Prod ID: CD-ROM CD-8008
> Serial #: not avail

I downloaded a demo of CD speed tools (this was the only "alternative
driver" I knew how to find...found via "cd driver" search on versiontracker)
and installed it. Apple CD driver was turned off in EM, rebooted...

I could use the CDROM drive. huh. ASP reported driver version as 6.0 (I am
assuming that was intech's version number)

Switched driver back to Apple 1.2.2 using EM, did not see any prefs to trash
and rebooted.

ASP *now* reported driver version as 1.2.2 so I tried to insert a CD (the
same one as with CD speed tools) and...

*freeze*

So...what alternative drivers should I try? Where can i find them?

Thanks!
Caitlin
