||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| When you installed 8.1 perhaps you opted to omit the Quickdraw GX package. If it is not available on your floppy or CD set you might download it from Apple. Some programs use it for graphics. Microsoft Excel needed it on my system. The glitch you have may or may not be a function of not having QD GX . I don't know for sure.
