YOU ARE A GENIUS, MICHAEL!!!!! It WORKS!
I couldn't find Daystardigital.Com, but after searching google, I got the following Daystar MP troubleshooting page through Lower End Mac @ http://www.lowendmac.com/daystar/pages/dsd_products/support/ I did the song and dance for when it can't cold boot. Removed 6 Ram chips, and {{{CHIME!}}} It booted up. Looks like it was a bad Ram Chip. Thanks! You saved me some money, my valuable data, and my sister from going back to using her crummy Pentium 60 mhz pc. And thanks to everyone else who gave their suggestions. 9500 owners... make sure you bookmark the above link and swear by it the next time your machine can't start! -Alan -----Original Message----- From: PCI PowerMacs [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Michael Shaw Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2003 6:03 PM To: PCI PowerMacs Subject: Re: HELP!!!! They have possible PCI issues. The same board was used in the Daystar Genesis MP computers. On the Daystardigital.com website there is a procedure to be followed when the computer WILL NOT BOOT. There is a list of components to be removed and carefully re-installed. Saved me a lot of grief over the years. I have a spare 9500 Tsunami motherboard that I ordered when I thought mine was flakey, but info on the Daystar site always manages to get mine running again. You can't kill it and it won't die. I tried to install OSX on a computer this morning with a Tsunami board in it. It went DEAD and pulling the plug right out and waiting a few minutes re-enabled the Startup button on the Keyboard. Try it. M -- "France has neither winter nor summer nor morals. Apart from these drawbacks it is a fine country.
