Are there any PC ATA cards that are flash-able to a Mac rom?
FWIW I dug this up for an adaptec 2940UW (about $30-35 shipped PC version) a while ago, have not tried it yet:

If you are inclined to solder, this method <http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/tips/adaptecConvert.html> does not require a PC. Some updates:
1) Putting the DIP chip in U5 works.
2) You can just saw through or clip the pins of the PLCC chip at U6, remove the chip and then remove the pins one at a time with a soldering pencil. None of that mucking about with the heat gun and Chip Quik.
3) The DIP Flash chip and sockets are available from JDR, but you may have to call them for the socket. They don't have everything on their web site.
