Hi Listie's;

I bought a 4meg Vram module froma a guy on the Swap list and when I
installed it in the 4400 I have, it wouldn't go beyond [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
16 bit (Tousands) colour. I'd like to get a part No. for the 4meg module
to check it against (he may have shipped the wrong module). The Lem page
says I should be able to get 24bit(Millions) of colours. There doesn't
appear to be a cuda switch on the motherboard to initialize with, So
should I just unhook the battery for 20-30 min's to cause a PRam reset and
try again???

Checking the StarMax reference manual, with 4MB VRAM, you can only get 1024x768x32bit at 60Hz. Beyond that you are limited to 16bit up to 1280x1024. I don't know if these numbers apply to the 4400 as well, or if Apple capped the chip. If you have a 2MB module you should still be able to display at 1280x1024, just at 8bit. Even a 1MB module will get up to 1152x870 at 8 bit, so I'm not sure why you would be stuck where you are.
