What the AP business writer conveniently neglected to mention, however, is that MS has also withdrawn future free versions of IE for Windows. New versions will now only be available as part of a commercial software package, such as office or a Windows upgrade.
MS thinks they can get away with this now that they've settled an AOL lawsuit over monopoly practices in the browser market. AOL got some cash, but has thrown in the towel. There will be no further development of Netscape.
