My PM 7200/75 (7.6.1) has been working perfectly for a long time. Suddenly it got funky, so I shut it down and restarted. It seemed to stArt Ok except didn't open the launcher. It won't open anything! Not the hard drive, not the CD (shows the icon), not the zip disk (also shows icon). I can 'open' control panels but not items there, so I can't switch stArtup disk to Disk Doctor.
I CAN start with my startup floppy disks. I have a 7200 startup floppy with a zip driver and Disk First Aid (7.2.2?), I can boot and see the zip icon but not open, nor can I open the floppy to get to Disk First Aid. I had make a NDD startup floppy disk from the Norton Utilities disk. I used it to boot and it runs Disk Doctor. It found some problem in the alternative directory and 'fixed' it and now reports no problems. I still can't open anything. I'm typing this on by backup computer (Performa 466) since my new faster PM7200/120 (8.6) isn't set up for e-mail yet. Any idea what the problem/fix is? Never saw anything like this before. Any help appreciated, you guys have saved my skin before and have given excellent advice so I'm waiting.
