The monitor light turning green at power up and then giong orange is a sure sign that the monitor isn't detecting a signal from the 7300 so it's going into Power Save mode.
I'd start with the obvious and double check your connections and make sure everything is tight. I suppose I would suspect the adapter next. Will the Cinema Display work on the 7300 built in video with an adapter? I'm not sure, maybe someone else will chime in... If not, and you wanted to use the display, you could install an additional video card that would handle it... but again, I'm not sure whats compatible and what isn't, I'm sure others will chime in soon.
