That suggestion came from an Apple reply to a corrupt fonts question in the TIL discussions. Had a problem with a client's B&W a couple years ago and went searching. Sorry if I mislead anyone. Apple seemed to think that it was a solution, and it did work for me. Your mileage may vary, of course.

You would not use Disinfectant. Go to Alsoft.com and to the Ask Al section and download the Corrupt Fond Fixer application. Run it on all your HD, it's fast and will repair any old-style or corrupted fonts, and then download and install the Font Manager Updater Extension for Apple only if you are using OS 8.6
