Chris,

Several years ago I had an Agfa Snapscan (SCSI) scanner, and after less than
a year of use, it began giving me the very same message.  I never was able
to get it to work again, and after another year of on-and-off trying to get
the sucker going, gave up and tossed it.  Agfa was of no help to me, and I
won't buy Agfa products again because of it.
