I've read on several lists that the Radeon 7000 is a good card for upgrading a 7500. Can it be used with OS X? I just read on Small dog that it will not work on a beige G3 with OS X. Is this the case?
Wha??? I must be hallucinating my video then, since my G3 at home only has monitors connected to the Radeon. There were issues with older versions of OSX (The radeon needs at least 10.1.5 to work properly) but 10.2 and up works just fine with it.
What are some other possibilities for video on my 7500 G3? All was fine until recently when it developed a vertical line that tracks my cursor. I'm not a gamer I just have basic needs and want to run OS X.
Then shop for a used Rage 128 card, or if you want the better performance and dual monitor support, get the Radeon Mac Edition. $119 at OWC last I checked. OWC has other video cards, as well.
