Hello, I recently bought my first PowerMac: A Power Macintosh 7500 with 300 megs of ram. I also bought a Sonnet 400mhz upgrade card and Mac OS 9.1 I am happy with the performance of everything BUT the INTERNET! The Power Mac is connected to my DSL network via a Linksys router. My PC is much faster at surfing the web. The Mac seems a little sluggish and Entourage is VERY SLOW when previewing HTML mail.
Other then the sonnet and ram what else will give me a solid boost in performance, especially Internet browsing?
I have a similar setup with a 7300 upgraded to G3/400, 348MB RAM, OS 8.6 and broadband internet (RoadRunner). But, mine zips right along using iCab (beta version 2.9.1) while Internet Explorer 5 and Netscape 4.79 are bow-wows in comparison. I also have an older PC laptop, but it's almost worthless for net browsing compared to my Mac. See: http://www.icab.de/index.html
