are some registry hacks to change the mtu
Routers have had this capability built in for quite some time. Some very earlier routers did not have this ability to change MTU. It is normally set at 1492 for DSL. But don't ask me what it all means. Some problems can arise if the proper MTU is not set. I've noticed some software hacks around for Macs for routers. Some seem to have the ability to upgrade the firmware via the browser, so that it can be done on a Mac or PC.
