Picked up a "generic" PCI FireWire 3 port card today. Searching the web
gives me no useful information. The only ID on the card is SCI FireWave.
It has a Texas Instruments logo on what appears to be the main chip.

Plugged it into an 8500/150 running OS 9.1 to see if ASP would recognize
it. It shows card name as pci104c, 8010. Vendor Code 104c.

Since I have no FireWire devices to plug into the card, is there any
other way to determine if the card functions? Some sort of software test?
Or is it more akin to a USB card that only "functions" if an appropriate
device is connected?

For 25 cents I suppose it was worth the gamble.

Ken
