My son found an 8500 w/an LCD screen at the local Salvation Army store for $25. It was well worth it for the screen alone, but I would like to update the 8500 a bit for my daughter to use at school. As I've heard - and learned from personal experience - it is a BEAR to do anything to. Is there somewhere I can find instructions on how to upgrade RAM and hard drives? The manuals available online don't seem to cover it.
It really does make me appreciate my 8600 even more!
