So we have a program called "Virtual PC" that runs on a real PC! (:->).
What does that mean? So Mac's are so elite they can't be labled as PC's because they are not personal computers?
"IMHO" > Join the modern era of acronyms and stop pushing a late '70s and '80s mentality.
When the acronym PC was first coined it did refer to ALL computers that were designated for personal use. After the Macintosh became a viable computer platform, and because they were not "compatible" with the IBM standard, the difference was made. The IBM compatibles kept the designate of PC (which in 'my' view is derogatory) and the Macintosh took on Mac. This was done by the general public and computer techs, IT people, etc. Yes, the acronym "PC" did and is still listed as meaning Personal Computer, but that is not how it is used. And no, Mac is not so elite that it can not be labeled as a Personal Computer. It's just it's own platform and should have it's own acronym to distinguish it from the rest of the "PCs".
PC = IBM Compatible Mac = Macintosh As accepted by the "MAJORITY" of the rest of the world...... Punkt, schl, aus.....
