Okay, here's what I've got. The 1705 Monitor has three rows with 3 pins
missing on the monitor end of the cable. The new card has 3 rows. The
cable I have has three rows with only 1 pin missing. The one pin missing is
in the center row, the mac cable also has 1 pin missing from the center row
but has 2 missing in another row. Can I assume that this configuration will
work?
Thanks, you guys are great,
Craig (aka: Grateful)

Yep, you got it made. I dont know why the pins arre missing, but i checked my cables and they are also missing pins in the center row so i think this is done on purpose. Be sure that you didnt accidentally snap off any of the pins (you can check this with a flashlight; you should see a stub of metal if you did), but as far as toasting the card or monitor, you cant with just a cable. A power surge maybe (I had one knock out my original Radeon Mac Ed, not the 7k, along with my Beige G3 LB). You seem all set. IM me at NoradNinja (AIM) and let me know how it went.
