Hi Listers,
Installing Quicktime 6.3 under OS 8.6 and 9.1 has made both systems crash / freeze prone. These systems were both running sweet before. As if that was not bad enough regisering it as Quicktime Pro made things worse.
Does Apple do this in the belief we vintage Power Mac users will get fed up and go out and buy new machines with our wads of money ?
Is anyone else having these problems with Quicktime 6.3 and either OS 8.6 or 9.1 ?
Depends on the machine. I have an older machine, but you wouldn't expect the auto make provide parts for a really old car, so, you need to run an older version of Quick time.
My current machine is said to be 5 times more powerful than it's previous configuration. And besides my old Chevy had 4 times the horsepower of my new one. So this analogy is not quite apropos.
A G3 and OS 8.6 or 9.1 should be sufficient to run this without problems. ( or so Apple says ) Every version of QT I have had has had faulty operation . Why should this one be any different?
