Change the name of the relevant extensions? What? To "Abba" (to get

You talking spaces before the name?

Actually, this I am sure is exactly what was meant. A space will place the extension at the top of the list, even before 1-9 and A. You can use the method of inserting letters and then a space before the actual name of the extension to set the priority in which the extensions load at bootup, thereby forcing them to load in a certain order to avoid the issue you are having. This sounds like a long process; it is, and that is why seasoned Mac veterans refer to it as 'Extension Conflict Hell'.

On a side note, I spelled refer as 'reffer' accidentaly and OS X thought I meant 'reefer'...

It has been stable for a couple of days now - what I did was that I mimicked my other partition that is only for sound editing and burning, and the extensions disabled there are all the ones called OPEN GL... and NVIDIA and ATI (not the ATI video accelerator), will that make any difference on a 7600 ? I don't play games or have anny sprocket - joystick etc installed. But then this has worked before for some weeks and then out of the blue crashed with an irrepairably damaged systemfolder as a result. Then suddenly I realised that the alternatives are less in the Sound Control panel, compared with OS 8.6 - I am no longer able to choose different out volume for the RCA line out <-> and internal speaker/headphonesocket, does anyone know what is missing or was it not installed by 9.1 ?
