I've run one of these in every mac I currently own. Never had to chase after a driver for it and they were instantly recognized by the OS's - 8.6 through 10.2.6. Have been hassle free. Run digital cameras, game controllers, cams, mouse, etc. they were on sale for $17 for quite awhile. The site says not available in store, but every time I've been in a crapusa store they have at least 10 or more on the shelf.

I'm looking to add USB capabilities to my trusty Mac, to connect things like Zip drives and portable Minidisc decks.
I'd like to get one that has more than the usual complement of 2 external
ports, but the one in my price range that I found on Cyberguys.com says it
requires "PCI 2.1 compliant slots."

The questions, therefore:
1) Will it work with my Mac?
2) Is it too cheap to be real? Would something slightly more costly be
more likely to actually work?
3) Will I notice the speed gains of USB 2.0 vs. 1.1 given the computer &
the expected usage?
Thanks, Jesse
