ok .. here's the deal .... I have a G3 card and a Radeon video card and a bunch of RAM ... I'm rebuilding a computer and i need the wisdom of the list :-)
scenario 1: the g3 and the video in a power tower pro Pros: Faster buss speed??? more space for hard-drives/CDs/etc cons: only 4 RAM slots (I have 2x128MB, 2x64MB, and a bunch of 32 MB sticks)
Scenario 2: put the stuff in the 8500 I have Pros: 8 RAM slots (see above for ram); still have some space for HD's/CDs/etc. video in/out (although these will be inop when i install OSX) Cons: that darn case, not sure of the health of the MoBo, BUT the problems it had before might have just been a dead PRAM battery
Scenario 3: 8500 Mobo in a 7500 case Pros: better case for access than the 8500 and same as scenario 2 Cons: that darn pizza box case, lack of space for HDs/CDs/etc
So what do y'all think?
Chunk'em all and get a 9600/350
