I've checked all connections reseated the ram, the processor.. However I didn't think about pulling the scsi cable from the Zip and Jazz.. I will try that next.. Thank you for your reponse.. I donot at this time have a manual, I've been to the apple.support site to d/l the PDF, but it gives an error message and no dice, so that could be very helpful.
I don't know of this will help much but you might want to replace the battery. Your posting date is 27 Aug 1956 which is a good indication that the battery is hosed.
I have an 8600/300 myself and all sorts of things got weird when the battery died.
