I have an old Seagate drive that gives me trouble when I try to boot from it. The reason is that it is so slow to spin up that the Mac finally picks another drive to start from. I found I could start from it by hitting the power button, waiting about 5 seconds, then hit the restart key combo (command-control -power).

Maybe I should try to tell the other drive (a Quantum) to delay motor start? -- _ Thanks,

Paul
