Just want to add my 2 on this.

Went to Chooser and found that Appletalk is "inactive."

Went to System> Extensions> Printer Descriptions: where I found the
following -
LaserWriter
LaserWriter Personal 320
LaserWriter Personal NT
LaserWriter Personal NTR
LaserWriter Select 360
LaserWriter Select 360f
LaserWriter Select 610

All of which I have access to, but my main printer is a Personal
LaserWriter 300 which I've had running since some time in 1992 or 1993 and
been through a dozen toner cartridges.

It is printing as I'm writing this on a PowerMac 4400/200/48MB RAM, MacOS 8.6.

I cannot tell you what the status of Appletalk has been in the past with a
IIsi or a 7100, but it is printing now with Appletalk inactive.

Went to System Profiler, It says Appletalk is installed and inactive,
file-sharing is off.

Printer driver is LaserWriter 300/LS, printer version 1.2.
