1). How do I disconnect the floppy drive?
On the front panel of the 7500 the are two bush buttons that need to be pust in the remove the cover. Feel under the lip at the bottom, one on each side. Push them up andwhile holding them up give a slight jerk forward with the case. The floppy drive is on the top right.
2). Is the connection removed from the disk drive or from the motherboard?
Actually, either but better to remove the cable from the drive. To remove the drive there should be plastic spring clip on either side towards the back of the drive that need to be pulled outward for the drive to slide forward. But carefully remove the tin facing first.
3). What can I use in it's place?
It would be best to replace it with the same model drive that was in it. They can usually be gotten from several different places for less than 10+shipping.
