i have a 300mhz Newertech g-3 daughtercard upgrade that i am trying to put in a PowerTower pro, but I have a few questions:
1) Do i leave the motherboard cache in, or do i take it out?
2) Same with the ROM sim
3) there are 4 switches on the card, anyone have the config chart for them?
You definitely want to remove the motherboard cache card and leave the ROM in place. As for the 4 switches, IIRC they are only used to support the Mach5 machines (8600/233+ and 9600/250+). If they are all set in one direction they should be fine. There used to be an archive of Newer's old support site at <http://www.mirrors.ausmac.net/ftp/Mirrored-SW/NewerTechnology/www.newertech.com/main/index.html> but it appears to no longer exist.

You have to recognize that every out-front maneuver you make is going to be
lonely. But if you feel entirely comfortable, then you are not far enough
ahead to do any good. That warm sense of everything going well is usually the
body temperature at the center of the herd. --John Masters
