--- Anybody ever heard of a mac super drive?? There's a guy on ebay selling used super drives.
There have now been three devices known as "Super Drives". The first was the original Apple High Density drive that could read/write 1.44 meg floppies, as well as DOS/Windows disks. This is what most Macs after the Classic and II(something) had through the last Power Mac with a floppy.
Then there was a Super Drive that was also known as an LS-120 that attempted to compete with Iomega's Zip drives, except that as well as using their own disks that held 120 megs, they were also backwards compatible with regular floppies. They never really caught on for some reason.
The newest variant is Apple's Super Drive that reads/writes both CD-RWs and DVDs.
Quite confusing, but need to make sure which is which :)
