OK, I'm ready to try again to get a PCI card with USB ports installed on my 5400/200 running OS 8.6 with the Apple USB Card Support package 1.4.1 installed.
The previous card I tired, a Belkin two port card didn't work at all. But, as I got it off eBay for a pittance, I'm not greatly bothered that it didn't work. (Either the card was bad or there was a firmware conflict.)
So, before I spend the money on a new card, who here has an identical system AND a USB card installed and working? All I need is a two port card, but if someone is really impressed by their 4-5 port card, I'd be pleased to hear about it as well.
Sincere thanks in advance!Hi....Chris, I have a 2-port USB card that I can test in a 6400 (same mobo as 5400). If it works out, I'd ship it for $12.00. Thanks Mikie
Let me give you a tentative "yes" on that. Remember, OS 8.6 and USB support 1.4.1. If it works under that setup, let me know.
